The Perfect Skincare Regimen For Glowing Skin
The largest organ in our body is our skin and do we take care of our skin properly? Don’t we all neglect our skin largely? Our skin works throughout the day and night to protect ourselves and our body from severe weather, UV damage, and other unpleasant sensations.
Therefore proper skin care demands for a daily regimen that includes cleansing, hydration, and protection from both external and internal elements.
Before we begin, remember that patch testing is important. Introduce products individually, so you don’t overload your skin. Everyone’s skin is different.
CLEANSING:
Skin becomes radiant and healthy after thorough cleansing, it helps anti-aging products and treatments to work properly, and manage proper pore-size and boosts proper skin hydration.
First Cleanser
Oil, Balm, Micellar- Designed for makeup and sub block removal
Second Cleanser
Gentle foaming cleansers for a second cleanse! Low pH ones are the best
EXFOLIATION:
The process of regeneration slows down with age and it takes time to shed skin cells and generate new ones. Accumulation of dead skin cells results in excess oil and clogged pores. Proper exfoliation removes dead skin cells and gives way for moisturizing products to penetrate more deeply into the skin. Exfoliation is done best once in a week and over-exfoliating can make your skin dry and irritated.
*Clay Mask
Exfoliate or deep cleanse your skin. 1-2 times a week to ensure you don’t dry your skin out.
*Physical Exfoliator
Sugar scrubs, Brushes, Peeling gels. Exfoliate your skin 1-2 times a week.
TONING:
Removes oil and traces of dirt which greatly aids oily or acne-prone skin. It is also used for fulfilling the purpose of extra cleaning after application of makeup or other heavy skin products. Application of toners reduces pore size, prevents ingrown hairs, restores skin’s pH balance which gets destroyed due to the alkaline nature of soaps and adds a layer of protection while moisturizing and revitalizing the skin.
pH Adjusting Toner
Boost the effects of your actives
Actives
Vit C, BHA, AHA. Chemical exfoliants for your skin.
(Wait 15 mins between each step for a boosted effect)
Hydrating Toner (Lotions)
Prepping your skin for the steps ahead, and lightly hydrating.
Essence/Serum
Tailor your routine to your skin concerns. (Thinner to thicker is the general rule)
HYDRATION:
With time, as the skin grows older- it loses its capability to retain moisture and skin cells become drenched. As a result, the elastin and collagen fibers become brittle and they tend to break. Dehydrated skin results in dull and older looking skin, it takes away the youthfulness and glows.
Sheet Mask
Essence soaked mask for an immediate boost of hydration
Facial Oils
Add and lock in hydration. Add a drop or two to your moisturizer to boost hydration and ease of application.
Moisturizer
Lotion or creams to hydrate your skin.
Sleeping Pack
Heavier moisturizer to lock all the goodness
PROTECTION:
Sun’s harmful rays include UVA and UVB rays. UVB rays affect the upper layers of the skin causing wrinkles, tan, free radicals, DNA damage and skin cancer whereas UVA rays are less intense and they cause damage only after being exposed after a prolonged time. It’s dermatologically advised to use broad spectrum sunscreen for effective protection from both UVA and UVB rays. Sunscreen is advised to be applied
-30 minutes before going outdoors
-every 80 minutes after application
Sun Block
Protect your skin by preventing skin damage.
A daily skin routine, therefore, ensures healthy skin. Though beauty may seem to only deal with skin. Well-maintained and radiant skin is a true indicator of one’s overall health and well-being.
