PRP Treatment for Male Pattern Hair Loss

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has become a newer method for the treatment of various types of alopecia. Main indications in dermatology for PRP are androgenetic alopecia, wound healing, and skin rejuvenation. For preparation of PRP, various protocols are used, with an underlying principle of concentrating platelets to 3–5 times physiological levels, then injecting this concentrate in the tissue where treatment is desired.

PRP hair restoration is suitable for both male and female patients. It is a non-surgical and alternative medical procedure used for treatment of hair loss or hair thinning.  It is an injectable treatment which uses patient’s own blood. PRP contains active growth factors which can promote hair growth.

Each session takes 60 minutes in duration.

After the treatment, there will be mild redness and swelling in the treatment area for 2-3 days. There are no side effects or down time after treatment. It is a safe treatment. For better results, we would recommend 3-4 sessions with a 4-week interval.
